How do referrals, repeat prescriptions and test results work at Total GP?
Doctors ask that patients book an appointment for all repeat prescriptions and repeat referrals unless otherwise arranged with their doctors.
Normal results are not generally communicated to the patient. However, if any of the results do need follow up by your doctor, you will be advised either by phone or mail. If you do have questions regarding your results, a message is sent to the relevant doctor who will generally direct further information regarding your query to the nursing staff who in turn will then contact you. If you would like a copy of your results, please ask the doctor regarding this at the time of your consultation.
How does Total GP manage my medical information?
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
What do I do if I have feedback?
Total GP respects the fundamental rights of all clients and community members to have an accessible and confidential avenue for providing positive or negative feedback about Total GP services and for having these comments or complaints dealt with in a fair and efficient way, however, suggestions from you to improve the services offered by our practice are welcomed. We encourage patients to fill in a patient feedback survey or a suggestion card. Once completed this needs to be placed in our suggestion box located in the waiting room.
Should there be any problems with the practice that you wish to pursue externally, the appropriate agency is The Health and Disability Services Complaints Office and can be contacted by phone on (08) 9323 0600 or www.hadsco.wa.gov.au
